James Nowell leads a balanced attack to beat Marion-Franklin

Recap: Eastmoor Academy Warriors vs. Marion-Franklin Red Devils

Even though the Marion-Franklin Red Devils scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, the Eastmoor Academy Warriors still came out on top. Eastmoor Academy escaped with a win against Marion-Franklin by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65. That's another feather in the cap for Eastmoor Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Eastmoor Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Nowell, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. King Moody was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.

Despite the loss, Marion-Franklin still got an impressive performance from Terry Black, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Black hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Wilkins, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Eastmoor Academy pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Marion-Franklin, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Eastmoor Academy will be playing at home against Africentric Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Africentric Early College knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Eastmoor Academy likes a good challenge. As for Marion-Franklin, they will head out on the road to challenge Briggs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
