Football Recap: Southern Guilford Takes a Loss

Southern Guilford had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-3 to make it five. They were dealt a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Page Pirates. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Storm were not able to get on the board.

As for Page, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Page found their leader in sophomore Zamari Williamson, who threw for 213 yards and five touchdowns. Christopher Armstrong was another key player, picking up 54 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Southern Guilford will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeast Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Rams' defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so the Storm's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Page, they will face off against Dudley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
