It was a good run, but Old Fort unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 6-2 to the Gibsonburg Golden Bears. The Stockaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Caiden Swecker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Old Fort saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew tackett, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Old Fort's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Gibsonburg, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Old Fort will take on Mohawk at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gibsonburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Joseph Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
