Baseball Recap: Sheridan's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sheridan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Utica Redskins with a sharp 7-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Generals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Camdyn Packer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Packer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Solomon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Noah Wamer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Sheridan pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Utica, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Redskins beat Sheridan by a score of 9-3 later that day.
