Softball Game Preview: Flora Wolves vs. Fairfield Mules

For the second straight game, Flora will face off against Fairfield. The Wolves will take on the Mules at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Flora's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Fairfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Flora took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fairfield by a score of 8-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Fairfield's part, Alivia Rice and Kiersten Vaughan did some serious damage despite the final result: Rice went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI, while Vaughan went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Lee, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Flora's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
