Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Marian

Marian came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 70-58 win over the Grind Prep G.R.I.N.D. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Marian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lamonte Butler out in front who shot 67% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. Butler is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Wyles, who went 7-for-11 en route to 18 points.

Marian's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Grind Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Marian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Francis Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on December 9. As for Grind Prep, they will face off against Skyline at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday.
