Baseball Recap: Chazy Has No Trouble Against Crown Point

Chazy hadn't done well against Crown Point recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Panthers. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly 13 runs.

Aiden Howell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacoby Weeden, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Poirier, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2.

Chazy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chazy will take on Lake Placid at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crown Point, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bolton Central at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
