Basketball Recap: Hannibal Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Hannibal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Centralia Panthers, falling 52-27. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Panthers are ranked 29th).

Hannibal's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4. As for Centralia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hannibal has already played their next match (against Kirksville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Centralia will head out to square off against Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmyra knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Centralia likes a good challenge.
