The league's top two teams in the standings locked horns this week, as Jefferson took home a 18-9 victory over Edgerton on Tuesday. Jefferson sits in first place in Rock Valley - North at 9-1 (18-4 overall).

The Eagles (18-4, 9-1) are riding a league-best 12-game winning streak. The streak was extended by another two games over the past week, including a 18-9 win over Edgerton. Nick Shrader led the lineup this week with zero hits and zero RBIs.

McFarland's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 21 hits and seven walks, both of which led the league. On the season, the Spartans have allowed just 186 hits, while striking out 70 batters. Alex Baxter leads the Spartans with 15 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Jacob Schimmel, who turned in two Ks for McFarland. He's eigth in the league with seven total strikeouts.
