Football Recap: First Academy Has No Trouble Against St. John Lutheran

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ocala Christian, First Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the St. John Lutheran Saints with a sharp 55-34 win. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Henry Purvis had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 172 yards and six TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 23 passing touchdowns on the season. Luke Rutzebeck did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 58 receiving yards.

First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for St. John Lutheran, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, First Academy will host Real Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raptors' defense has only allowed 7.8 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for St. John Lutheran, they will venture away from home to take on Gainesville Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
