Central took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Jonesboro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Hurricane 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since February 24th.

Central's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Jonesboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will face off against West Memphis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Jonesboro, they will head out on the road to square off against Searcy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hurricane 4, the Lions 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
