Volleyball Recap: Leyden Comes Up Short

Leyden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the South Elgin Storm. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Sarah Skorna paced Leyden's offense, picking up five kills. Skorna got some help from Aleksandra Manojlovic and her ten assists.

Leyden's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for South Elgin, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Leyden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Niles North on the 4th. As for South Elgin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Rolling Meadows on the 4th.
