Basketball Game Preview: Riverton Silverwolves vs. Herriman Mustangs

The Riverton Silverwolves will venture away from home to face off against the Herriman Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverton has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 7.

On Tuesday, Riverton ended up a good deal behind Corner Canyon and lost 76-62. While losing is never fun, the Silverwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Chargers are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Herriman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Copper Hills by a score of 75-64 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.

Herriman's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Riverton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Riverton suffered a grim 69-44 defeat to Herriman in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Herriman's Cale Barclay, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards.
