Basketball Recap: Choctawhatchee Victorious

After losing to Escambia the last time they met, Choctawhatchee decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Choctawhatchee Indians came out on top against the Escambia Gators by a score of 57-44 on Tuesday. The Indians pushed the score to 46-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the defeat, Escambia saw an underclassman step up: freshman Roycen Jones went 7 for 17 on his way to 17 points. David Dodson was another key player, putting up six points.

Choctawhatchee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Escambia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Choctawhatchee will take on Walton in a tournament on Friday. As for Escambia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
