Wellsboro is a perfect 7-0 against Cowanesque Valley since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hornets will head out to take on the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Wellsboro has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wellsboro fell victim to North Penn-Liberty and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to the Mountie. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Mountie recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cowanesque Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Canton with a sharp 12-4 win on Thursday. Considering the Indians have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Arianna Cary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Raegan Watson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Churchill, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cowanesque Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

With the victory, Cowanesque Valley broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Wellsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Wellsboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Cowanesque Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2021, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
