Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Braves vs. Meadowdale Lions

The Shawnee Braves will face off against the Meadowdale Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Shawnee's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Meadowdale has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Shawnee is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-27 win over Benjamin Logan. The Braves pushed the score to 42-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Meadowdale lost to Dunbar at home by a 72-58 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 228th).

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Meadowdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Shawnee came out on top in a nail-biter against Meadowdale when the teams last played back in March of 2015, sneaking past 54-51. Does Shawnee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meadowdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
