Baseball Game Preview: Wylie Bulldogs vs. Legacy Leopards

For the second straight game, Wylie will face off against Legacy. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Leopards at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wylie has six straight victories, Legacy has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Wylie's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Legacy. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Ty Briscoe made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Wylie got a massive performance out of Dylan Regala, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave Regala a new career-high. Jace Tomlin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Wylie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wylie pushed their record up to 18-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Legacy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-21.
