Basketball Recap: Coventry Piles Up the Points Against Middletown

There's no place like home for Coventry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They breezed by the Middletown Islanders to the tune of 54-27 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Oakers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why Middletown lost, don't look at Lamaya Gonsalves. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals Gonsalves has posted since back in January of 2024.

Coventry now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Middletown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Coventry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-34 defeat against Scituate on the 30th. As for Middletown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-6 loss against North Smithfield on the 30th.
