Baseball Recap: Mountain Crest Comes Up Short

Mountain Crest fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Ridgeline on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Riverhawks by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Riverhawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Sam Rowser was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Ben Welch made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mountain Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Ridgeline, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
