Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sarena Yang and Brianna Kelly Lead Bear Creek to Victory

Bear Creek had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Stagg on Monday. The Bruins blew past the Delta Kings 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

One reason for the win was Bear Creek's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-7.

Leading Bear Creek to victory were Brianna Kelly and Sarena Yang. Kelly had seven digs and three aces, while Yang had nine assists. What's more, Kelly posted two assists, the most she's had since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Bear Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Stagg still got an impressive performance from Averie Scott, who had nine digs and one assist.

Bear Creek's record is now 12-14. As for Stagg, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Bear Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against McNair on the 22nd. As for Stagg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Chavez on the 22nd.
