Volleyball Recap: Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans vs. Grosse Pointe North Norsemen
Sterling Heights Stevenson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Norsemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Thursday.
Grosse Pointe North can attribute much of their success to Lily Schanley, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Schanley has posted over her last nine matchups. Meredith Dodenhoff also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Sterling Heights Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Grosse Pointe North, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9.
Sterling Heights Stevenson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Utica Ford on the 24th. As for Grosse Pointe North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Marysville on the 24th.
