Football Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Burke County Bears + How To Watch

After each having a week off, the Butler Bulldogs and the Burke County Bears will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Butler has given up an average of 28.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Butler's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Laney last Saturday. They took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 44-0. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burke County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on October 3rd. They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Josey 48-8. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four contests by 25 points or more so far this season.

Burke County had a senior duo take command as Sean Vandiver rushed for 49 yards and one score and Jamari Reeves rushed for 47 yards and a pair of TDs.

Burke County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Burke County pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points on average over those games. As for Butler, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-6.
