Baseball Game Preview: Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks vs. Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels

Colleton Prep Academy has gone 8-2 against Thomas Heyward Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The War Hawks will host the Rebels at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Colleton Prep Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They blew past Branchville 16-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the War Hawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Hartman Fisk was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Kinard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Colleton Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Thomas Heyward Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Coastal HomeSchool on Thursday, taking the game 8-3.

The team relied heavily on Mackie Bowers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colton Young, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Colleton Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Colleton Prep Academy skirted past Thomas Heyward Academy 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the War Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
