Baseball Game Preview: Sodus Spartans vs. Red Creek Rams

Sodus has gone 9-1 against Red Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Rams at 4:45 p.m. Sodus is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Sodus proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Gananda Central 4-2.

Austin Cincinello made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Cincinello was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Orrange-Paton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Red Creek can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lyons 3-1.

Red Creek's record is now 2-5. As for Sodus, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Everything went Sodus' way against Red Creek in their previous matchup on Thursday, as Sodus made off with an 11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
