Basketball Recap: Millville Comes Up Short

Millville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a blow against Weatherly, falling 82-39.

Weatherly's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Mckeegan, who went 11 of 15 en route to 28 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. Mckeegan's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Niko Saldukas, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds.

Millville's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Weatherly, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Millville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-40 defeat against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on the 29th. Weatherly has also already played their next contest, a 62-57 win against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the 28th.
