Softball Recap: Dyer County Choctaws vs. Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels
Dyer County was the 8-0 winner over Tipton-Rosemark Academy when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Dyer County Choctaws fell just short of the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels by a score of 9-7 on Monday.
Evie Rogers and Katie Caldwell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rogers scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Caldwell scored a run while going 4-for-4.
Even though they lost, Dyer County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton-Rosemark Academy only hit nine.
On Tipton-Rosemark Academy's side, Addie Thorpe was incredible, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Harrison, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Dyer County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-4-1.
While Dyer County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
