Softball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Extends Winning Streak to 16

It's playoff time, and Mohave Accelerated had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Tombstone Yellow Jackets on Wednesday. The Patriots are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 16 straight.

The result came thanks to Kennedy Lamb's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 19 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Haley Leslie was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rayli Marin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Mohave Accelerated lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in four consecutive matches.

Mohave Accelerated's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tombstone, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

Mohave Accelerated didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Round Valley on the 8th. Tombstone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
