The Alden Bulldogs will face off against the Griffith Institute Griffins at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Alden had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Kennedy on Friday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Bears. The victory was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Brooklyn Jankowski and Lilly Bromstead did most of the damage at the plate: Jankowski got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Bromstead went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Bromstead is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Samantha Waiss, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Griffith Institute hadn't done well against Eden recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Griffins blew past the Raiders 10-4. The win was familiar territory for the Griffins, who have now won three contests in a row.
Olivia Mesch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Grace Ricci was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Enser, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one triple.
Alden's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Griffith Institute, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Griffith Institute's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alden has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 14 hits per game. It's a different story for Griffith Institute, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Alden's sizable advantage in that area, the Griffins will need to find a way to close that gap.
Alden took their win against Griffith Institute in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-8 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Griffins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
