Basketball Game Preview: Peninsula Panthers vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings

Peninsula and Palos Verdes are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Peninsula Panthers will host the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Peninsula and four for Palos Verdes.

Peninsula is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Wiseburn- Da Vinci on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Peninsula was dealt a 67-35 defeat at the hands of Wiseburn- Da Vinci. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Wolves are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, Palos Verdes took a blow against Redondo Union on Tuesday, falling 101-34.

Palos Verdes' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Peninsula, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Peninsula came up short against Palos Verdes in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 49-40. Can Peninsula avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
