Soccer Recap: BASIS Falls Short Against Ranked DC International

BASIS faced DC International in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Red Giants came up short against the Dragons, falling 9-0. BASIS have struggled against DC International recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

BASIS was without their leading scorer, Xavier Carpenter, in Friday's contest. With Carpenter sidelined, Thomas Hayden got his first action of the season.

BASIS' loss dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for DC International, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1-2.

Coming up, BASIS will head out to face off against Sidwell Friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for DC International, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 5-0 win against Capital City Public Charter School on the 15th.
