Volleyball Recap: Redlands East Valley Comes Up Short

Redlands East Valley managed to slip by Redlands the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Redlands East Valley Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Redlands Terriers on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since February 27th.

While Redlands East Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-19.

Mark Huynh paced Redlands East Valley's offense, picking up 13 kills. Huynh got some help from Giovanni Carissimi and his 13 assists. Huynh was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Redlands East Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Redlands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redlands East Valley will venture away from home to face off against Cajon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cajon will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Redlands East Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redlands, they will head out on the road to challenge Citrus Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Redlands is facing Citrus Valley at the right time seeing as Citrus Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
