Baseball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Mt. Pleasant was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of the Rogers Vikings by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Kilties in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Omar Ortega was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Rogers, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Looking ahead, Mt. Pleasant will head out on the road to take on Davies Career & Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.64 runs per game on average), something the Kilties will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rogers, they will host Johnston at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Panthers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
