Recap: Coppin Academy Golden Eagles vs. Forest Park Foresters

The Coppin Academy Golden Eagles lost against the Forest Park Foresters back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Coppin Academy was beaten by Forest Park 59-7. Coppin Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-3.

Forest Park found their leader in underclassman NaJae Malik-El, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Malik-El is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Carroll, who scored 11 points.

Coppin Academy bumped their record down to 2-2 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.2 points per game. As for Forest Park, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Coppin Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Lewis at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Forest Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver Vo-Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Carver Vo-Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Forest Park is ranked 23rd).
