Softball Preview: Guntersville Wildcats vs. Fairview Aggies

The Guntersville Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Fairview Aggies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Guntersville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Guntersville's last matchup with Fairview could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match last Tuesday. Guntersville came up short against Fairview, falling 11-4. One positive for the Wildcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

For Fairview's part, Ayda Payne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. What's more, Payne gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
