Volleyball Recap: Nantucket Starts Season with Loss at Home

Nantucket unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Sandwich Blue Knights on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12, 24-26, 25-16.

Nantucket's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bessie Aguilar, who had 15 aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Viktoria Bozhkova (C), who had 12 aces.

Coming up, Nantucket will head out to take on St. John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandwich, they will take on Marshfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
