Basketball Recap: Woodland Park Panthers vs. Rye Thunderbolts
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Woodland Park ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-48 win over the Rye Thunderbolts. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodland Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cody Becker, who went 6 for 14 en route to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Becker a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Summeril, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
Rye's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Guzman, who posted 13 points, and Axton Ehrlich, who put up eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Grant Clennin was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.
Woodland Park's record now sits at 6-8. As for Rye, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Woodland Park Panthers face off against the James Irwin Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rye has already played their next match, a 67-32 victory against Ellicott on the 3rd.
