Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Warriors vs. North Union Wildcats

Northwestern hasn't had much luck against North Union recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Northwestern Warriors will look to defend their home court against the North Union Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Northwestern will be strutting in after a victory while North Union will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Northwestern turned things around against Graham Local on Friday. They walked away with a 56-44 win over the Falcons.

Northwestern relied on the efforts of Crew Estep, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards, and Andrew Taylor, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points along with eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Estep a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason McDermott, who posted eight points and five assists.

Meanwhile, North Union didn't have quite enough to beat Indian Lake on Tuesday and fell 56-54. The Wildcats have struggled against the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

North Union's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-6. As for Northwestern, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.
