Baseball Recap: Carbon Falls Short of North Sanpete in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carbon can now relate to. They fell just short of the North Sanpete Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the Dinos' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Paxton Falk was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carbon is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Falk was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Carbon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for North Sanpete, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season.

While Carbon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
