After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wethersfield, Rocky Hill was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Newington Nor'easters with a sharp 12-5 victory. Considering the Terriers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mia Ferreira spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lianna Tejada, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Kelly, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
