Softball Recap: Timberline Blazers vs. North Thurston Rams
While Timberline's victory against North Thurston wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blazers had just enough and edged out the Rams 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Blazers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.
Madelyn Gilmore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayleese Dorfner, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
Timberline hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Thurston struck out ten times.
