Basketball Recap: Cherish Carson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Haywood Christian Academy over Temple Baptist

They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temple Baptist Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-47 back in November of 2024.

Haywood Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cherish Carson, who posted 15 points. Lexi Mendez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Temple Baptist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davis Metcalf, who earned 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Dotson, who had 11 points.

Haywood Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Temple Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Haywood Christian Academy has already played their next match, a 43-36 loss against The Master's Academy on the 28th. As for Temple Baptist, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-40 defeat against Pinnacle Classical Academy on the 28th.
