Brighton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the Bear Creek Bears 36-9. The Bulldogs were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mason Swearengin, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for Bear Creek, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The 36-point effort marked their lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

A big part of Bear Creek's victory came down to the chemistry between Riley Wilson and his top target Kamari May. Wilson threw for 312 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt while May picked up 107 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave May a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jonah Brink, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Brighton and Bear Creek will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bulldogs will face off against rival Rocky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bear Creek is set to challenge their familiar foe Highlands Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
