Basketball Recap: Carroll County Panthers vs. Gallatin County Wildcats

The Carroll County Panthers lost against the Gallatin County Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Carroll County was outmatched by the Wildcats on the road and fell 81-52. Carroll County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carroll County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braden Stephenson, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Gutman, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Carroll County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Carroll County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Gallatin County, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Carroll County is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Titans at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kentucky (Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 200th, while the Panthers are ranked 209th). As for Gallatin County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Spencer County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 415 points over their last six contests.
