Soccer Game Preview: Campo Verde vs. Highland

Campo Verde and Highland are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but likely not for long. The Campo Verde Coyotes will square off against the Highland Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Campo Verde comes in on five and Highland on three.

Campo Verde's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Notre Dame Prep with a sharp 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Notre Dame Prep with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lucas Tanzer, Samuel Nancollas, and Johan Tanzer.

Meanwhile, Highland got the win against Queen Creek on Wednesday by a conclusive 4-1. That three goal margin sets a new team best for the Hawks this season.

Campo Verde's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season.

Campo Verde beat Highland by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. Does Campo Verde have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
