Escanaba faced Dakota in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Sunday. The Eskymos put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Eskymos have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Sunday's blowout was nothing new.

Escanaba has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Dakota, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Escanaba has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Marquette on the 19th. As for Dakota, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Anchor Bay on the 20th.
