Softball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short

Northeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the First Flight Nighthawks, falling 20-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Tuesday.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for First Flight, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern will challenge Holmes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeastern has given up an average of 18.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for First Flight, they will face off against Manteo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manteo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
