Meanwhile, Triton Central won against Speedway on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past Eastern Hancock 11-10. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three games in a row.
The team relied heavily on Nick Riggins, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Sego, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
Triton Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Triton Central's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Triton Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
