Baseball Recap: North Sand Mountain Comes Up Short

North Sand Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pell City Panthers.

North Sand Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Pell City, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

North Sand Mountain will square off against Collinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bison's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Pell City, they will take on Cleburne County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
