Preview: Archbishop Alter Knights vs. Roger Bacon Spartans
After three games on the road, Archbishop Alter is heading back home. They will take on The Roger Bacon Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Archbishop Alter was able to grind out a solid win over Chaminade Julienne Catholic, taking the game 21-14. 21 seems to be a good number for Archbishop Alter as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Roger Bacon strolled past Norwood with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 23-6. The win was just what Roger Bacon needed coming off of a 41-17 loss in their prior match.
The critical scores for Roger Bacon came from Kyle Miller, Jerome Smith, and Victor Johnson.
Archbishop Alter is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Roger Bacon, their win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Archbishop Alter against Roger Bacon in their previous meeting back in September of 2018 as the team secured a 49-14 victory. Will Archbishop Alter repeat their success, or does Roger Bacon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
