Basketball Recap: Mooseheart Takes a Loss

Mooseheart played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 90-47 defeat at the hands of the Yorkville Christian Mustangs. The Red Ramblers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-24.

Several Red Ramblers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen Hope, who went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Oluwatosin Isola, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Yorkville Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Purvis out in front who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and five boards. Tray Alford was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and five steals.

Mooseheart is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. As for Yorkville Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Mooseheart will take on Aurora Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Yorkville Christian, they will face off against Canton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
